Advanced AI features at lower cost: our direction this week
We are building multi-model chat so advanced capabilities cost less to reach - one workspace, honest Free, Pro or credits when you need frontier, Ultra only when the week is heavy.
The expensive way to use AI is simple: five lab subscriptions, five histories, and a frontier model for every casual question. We are building the other way. Advanced features at lower cost - not by shipping hollow demos, but by putting free and frontier models in one chat, charging only when the work needs it, and raising the quality bar so what you pay for is usable.
If you only remember one line: one chat, many models, same history - and the answer should be something you can run, not a ZIP promise that never downloads.
What "lower cost" means on zy.ai
It does not mean fake infinite free frontier seats. It means fewer wasted seats and fewer wasted switches:
- One product surface instead of separate Claude + GPT + Gemini monthly tabs
- Free that builds - real free models for drafts, code, and runnable pages before you open your wallet
- Pro ($15/mo) when frontier quality is weekly work - still one history, not a new login
- Credits when you want advanced capacity pay-as-you-go, without another subscription

Quality first (so cheap does not mean broken)
Lower cost is worthless if the product overclaims. Looking at real thumbs-down themes, failures were often packaging theater:
- Fake archive talk ("save this as a ZIP") when chat cannot attach a real archive
- Pending-image theater without a real image attachment
- AAA / "perfect working" claims for a thin one-file demo
- Invented line numbers when a file extract is partial
This week we tightened delivery rules so the model prefers an honest working MVP: fenced code the UI can open, niche-accurate sites when you ask for a shop, and plain language when something fails. Cost efficiency and quality are the same project - you should not pay (or wait) for theater.
Free should build, not only brainstorm
Free on zy.ai is not a watermarked trial of a paid model. Free means free models, a daily limit, and the same multi-model chat UI. We will not invent discount theater. We will keep scoring ourselves on usable answers and a ladder finance can understand.
