Lesson 4 · 2026-10-04 · 7 min

The 1.50% fee and the 0.50% price move

Lesson 4. The fee is 1.50% of the amount sold. The gear that says 0.50% is how far the fill may move. They are not the same number.

Two percentages show up on ZyCrypto, and they are easy to mix up. The fee is 1.50% of the amount you sell. The price move is 0.50%. The move is a limit on the fill. It is not the commission.

This is lesson 4 of the DeFi swap lessons. Read it before you treat a quoted dollar figure as the whole cost.

The lesson series

  1. Start here
  2. What a decentralized swap is
  3. How to keep a wallet safe
  4. How to check a token contract
  5. The fee and the price move (this page)
  6. The seven chains
  7. Your first swap

The 1.50% fee

Every live swap includes a ZyCrypto fee of 1.50% of what you sell. The quote labels that row ZyCrypto fee.

  • $100 sold includes a $1.50 fee
  • $1,000 sold includes a $15 fee
  • $10,000 sold includes a $150 fee
  • $100,000 sold includes a $1,500 fee

The rate is fixed. The desk cannot set a different one. A refunded or failed swap does not earn the fee. A quote you do not sign moves nothing.

On a very small same-chain swap, the route may skip a fee under about $0.03. That is a property of the route, not a discount you can request.

The other costs on the quote

  • Network cost is paid to the chain. It is not the ZyCrypto fee.
  • Relay cost is the route. It is not the ZyCrypto fee.
  • Price difference is how the quoted value compares. It is not a second commission.
  • You receive at least is the minimum on that quote, after you still confirm it.

Gas for the chain is yours. Selling the gas token leaves a reserve: 0.0005 ETH on the EVM chains, or 0.01 HYPE on HyperEVM. Hyperliquid USDC has no gas reserve.

What 0.50% means

The gear reads Move 0.50%. That is the most the fill can move from the price you see. Settings say this is not the 1.50% fee. You cannot raise it.

A quote more than the 1.50% fee plus another 1% away from the market stays off. The rate can remain on screen with the swap disabled. That block is not a promise that the token keeps its price after you sign. Token prices move. You can lose the full amount.

The token price is not the fee

The price beside the coin is the dollar price of one token. Lesson 3 covers the contract and that price. The fee is a percent of the amount you sell, so a larger sell pays a larger fee. A new and thin token can show a price and still have no route for the size you typed. The desk says so instead of inventing a fill.

Next is the seven chains. The swap is at zyai.org.

Questions

What does ZyCrypto charge? 1.50% of the amount you sell. A $1,000 sale includes a $15 ZyCrypto fee. Network cost and Relay cost are separate.

Is 0.50% the fee? No. Move 0.50% is the most the fill can move from the quote. It is not the commission.

Do failed swaps still cost the 1.50%? A refunded or failed swap does not earn that fee. A quote you never sign moves nothing.

Open the swap when the lesson is clear.

No account. You sign in your wallet. The fee is 1.50%. ZyCrypto does not hold the funds.
