DeFi swap lessons for a first wallet

A short series for people looking at new decentralized tokens. Keep the recovery phrase offline, then check the contract, the fee, the chains, and a first swap.

These lessons are for people who are curious about new DeFi and decentralized tokens. A new project can be interesting. It can also hide behind a copied ticker. The series teaches the checks that come before a swap.

Nothing here is a list of coins to buy. Nothing here is investment, legal, or tax advice. You can lose the full amount you send. ZyCrypto is a beta swap. You sign in your own wallet. ZyCrypto does not hold the tokens.

The lesson series

  1. Start here (this page)
  2. What a decentralized swap is
  3. How to keep a wallet safe
  4. How to check a token contract
  5. The fee and the price move
  6. The seven chains
  7. Your first swap

What you will be able to do

  • Tell a wallet you control from an account that holds funds for you
  • Keep the recovery phrase offline, and close any page or chat that asks for it
  • Read the contract address on a coin, and copy it, before you trust the ticker
  • Separate the 1.50% ZyCrypto fee from the 0.50% price move, the network cost, and the route cost
  • Name the seven chains on the desk, and notice when a new project is on a network that is not listed
  • Walk through a first swap and stop if the quote is not the one you want

What this series will not do

  • Ask for your recovery phrase, or recover a wallet you lost
  • Pick a winner among new tokens
  • Promise a yield, a listing, or a future price
  • Add a coin because a website asked for it
  • Swap a contract that is not on the reviewed list

A coin that is not listed stays off. That includes a new project until it has one known contract on a listed chain. Lookalike tickers stay off on purpose.

Where the swap is

The swap is the front door at zyai.org. You do not need a zy.ai account. Read the policy and accept it, or the swap stays closed. Bought tokens, and a failed deposit, return to the wallet you connect. The product page is ZyCrypto.

The chat app is a different product at zyai.org/AI. Paying for a chat plan is not a swap. Crypto checkout for a plan is not ZyCrypto.

How to use a lesson

  1. Read one lesson. They are in order, and each one stands alone.
  2. Open the swap and look. You can read a contract and a price without sending anything.
  3. Sign only if the token, the chain, the amount, and the quote are the ones you meant.

On a phone, ZyCrypto opens inside the wallet you pick. Any other wallet works if you copy the link and open it in that wallet's browser.

Honest limits

  • Reviewed coins only. Not every new DeFi project.
  • Beta. A quote can change or disappear before you sign.
  • A transaction you already signed cannot be reversed here.
  • Accepting the policy stores that choice in this browser. It does not make ZyCrypto legal in every country.
